Global warming

Select an interval on the chart with the mouse, to show the values and the relative variation over the selected period
Source: http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/gcos_wgsp/Timeseries/Data/GLBTS.long.data
NB: I chose to give the temperatures in Celsius degrees, and the values are absolute, contrary to the customary use of 'anomalies'. In fact, in the original dataset, the values were the differences between the measured temperatures and the global mean temperature during the reference period 1959-1980.
From the NOAA webpage: "GLOBAL Land-Ocean Temperature Index in .01 C using: GHCN 1880-01/2005 (meteorological stations only) using elimination of outliers and homogeneity adjustment. Time Interval: Monthly. Time Coverage: 1880 to Jan 2015 ".
Therefore, the values have been actually pre-processed before publication. I am not implying that there is something wrong in this pre-processing, but I have not been through the details, and I hope to dedicate a future post to this subject.
